Pets: Pets must be kept on a 6 feet (1.8 m) leash and attended at all times and are not allowed on beaches; the prohibition is strictly enforced.

Attractions: The park is 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Cheboygan and 25 miles (40.2 km) from Mackinac City. Both cities offer many restaurants and stores. Also, a store near the park entrance provides fresh donuts every morning, daily newspapers from many towns, and an ice cream bar frequented by camp-goers after dinner.
