weekly magazine, both published by Aller Media. They both trace their origins from the Danish
weekly Illustreret Familie-Journal, founded in 1877 by Carl Aller
.
The Swedish edition has been published since 1879, and was initially called Illustrerad Familj-Journal ("Illustrated Family Journal"). In 1894, when the Swedish office moved to Helsingborg
, it was renamed Allers Familj-Journal, from 1959 Allers Familjejournal, and since 1968 the name has been Allers.
The Norwegian edition is the oldest one still in circulation in its country, and has been published since 1897. Its target group is mature women, and its circulation was 158,800 in 2004. The editor is Elisabeth Lund-Andersen.
