History

The school opened in 1974, initially as a 13-18 comprehensive with Miss Mary Gray as headmistress.
All Saints' became an 11-18 comprehensive school on a split site in 1984. Mr Peter Whalley then took over as Headmaster in 1981, and was succeeded in December 1996 by Mr Ken Daly, Mr Ken Daly retired in April 2008. In 1978 the school was visited by Prince Charles.

The current building was constructed for a pupil population of around 600 but has been gradually extended with the construction of a new Performing arts block and new Science block and the addition of 19 'temporary class rooms'. The X block's have been renevated several times and currently hold various subjects including PE office, Geography, Mathematics, RE, DT (Sewing) and SEN.

The School, which recently become a 'Dyslexia friendly School', has a substantial Sixth form of well over 100 pupils and currently has a total pupil population of approximately 1250. The School has approximately 75 Teaching staff, plus TA support and ancillary support staff.

The school was in the national news in 2009 when a Science teacher named Peter Harvey was charged with attempted murder after attacking a student in a science lesson. In a trail at Nottingham

 Crown court he was found not guilty of attempted murder but admitted a lesser charge of grievous bodily harm without intent but escaped a prison sentence and instead was given substantial community service. Mr. Harvey was planning to retire after the incident but was Dismissed before.
