Aldinga Post Office opened around 1851 and closed in 1992.

Tourism

Local Political Issues

In the last couple of months, there have been a few protests at the beach regarding the councils decision to restrict car access. Including a winter ban and putting up wood posts out the front of the surf life saving club. A majority of the locals do not want cars banned off the beach, while a minority do. Aldinga Bay Coastcare is worried about what environmental damage the cars do. A three year study has shown that cars can crush micro organisms and small crustacea that live in the sand.
