. However, Arik Air suspended service at this airport in late December 2009. Arik Air has recently started flying into Akwa Ibom Airport once again. The CEO of the airport is Captain Olubunmi Jari Williams, a former international pilot and safety officer for Arik Air. He currently also works on other international airports within Nigeria such as Lagos. Working alongside Marco Finini, an Italian man, bot there jobs is to transform aviation within Nigeria for a better and more westernised experience of flying. Service to those destinations has been provided by Dana Air
