 radio station called 'Cambridge City Radio' and later rebranded as 'Affinity' after gaining a licence to launch on DAB Digital Radio. Local stations in the UK provide a social gain to the region they serve. Affinity offers more than 70 hours a week of live programming.

Affinity Radio is also the first ever full-service DAB local station in England.

On 16 July 2011 Affinity celebrated 100 days on their air. Within this time the station has showcased many interviews including the Cambridge MP Julian Huppert, 80s singer and music producer Nik Kershaw
