Career

Adrià Díaz started skating in 1995. Originally a singles skater, he decided that ice dance might be a better fit for him and approached Sara Hurtado with the suggestion that they become partners. As there was no dance coach who could work with them in Spain, they had to wait for two years until the Spanish skating federation hired John Dunn to coach them in Madrid in early 2008.

Díaz and Hurtado began competing in the 2008-2009 season. Their first major international event was the 2009 World Junior Championships
