CONNECT
CONNECT is a three-year diploma granting program of Horry County Schools for overage students who have experienced academic difficulties. CONNECT allows students to graduate at, approximately, the same time as their base school. CONNECT is housed at The Academy for the Arts, Science and Technology, and provides instruction in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies which meets the standards for graduation. In addition, a careers program provides experience with job application, resume, and interview. Job shadowing, beginning in the first year, allow students on-site experience with professionals in fields of interest. Post-graduate study is possible at Horry-Georgetown Technical College and certificate-granting institutions. A four-year college can be explored only after successful completion of Horry-Georgetown Technical College or similar institutions.
