. The institution is a part of the Adarsh Shikshan Mandali. Adarsh Shikshan Mandali (ASM) was founded in 1943 by Krishnaji Bhaskar Virkar alias Tatyasaheb Virkar. He was the first Maharashtrian in Pune to start an English Medium School. He is also renowned for his English into Marathi and Marathi into English dictionaries. He is remembered even today for his dedication, clairvoyance, vision, hard work and love for children.

 from 8th to 10th standard. English and Mararthi are taught from class 1. Hindi, the regional language is taught as a third language and is compulsory from class 1 up to class 7.

The style of teaching ranges from an informal type at the pre-school level to a semi-formal type in early primary school and moves on to a progressively more formal type in the late primary and high school levels.

The academic year which commences in June and concludes in April consists of two terms. The first term is from June till October / November and the second term commences after a 3 week break and continues till April. Tests are conducted periodically and examinations are held at the end of every term. The courses of studies extend from kindergarten to class 10, at the end of which students appear for the SSC Examinations. The school's students have consistently performed well at the SSC examinations.

Project work is assessed from class 1 to class 10. Field trips, camps and social service visits are organized regularly.

Extracurricular activities

English-medium Pre-Primary School

Boys wear a white shirt and colored shorts depending on their standard. Similarly girls have to wear a white blouse and colored pinafore depending on their standard. The colors are as follows:
  • Mini KG - Red,
  • Junior KG - Green,
  • Senior KG - Yellow.

English-medium Primary School

Boys from standard 1 through standard 7 wear grey shorts and a half-sleeved white shirt with the school monogram and a white belt. Girls wear a half-sleeved white blouse and a grey pinafore with a white cotton belt. Both, the blouse and pinafore, have the school monogram on them. During physical training, however, it is mandatory for girls to wear the white blouse and grey shorts. Short-haired girls have to use white, cotton hairband, whereas girls with long hair have to use white ribbons to tie the hair. In addition all students have to wear blue canvas shoes and white socks. During the monsoon season, black buckled shoes are allowed as well.

English-medium High School

Boys from standard 8 through standard 10 wear grey trousers and a half-sleeved white shirt with the school monogram and a white belt. Girls wear a half-sleeved white blouse and a grey pinafore with a white cotton belt. Both, the blouse and pinafore, have the school monogram on them. In addition all students have to wear blue canvas shoes and white socks. During physical training sessions, boys have to wear a colored T-shirt with the school monogram (based on their house color) on their grey trousers. Girls have to wear a white T-shirt and colored divider skirt, again based on their house color.

Math Laboratory

All the new concepts in maths are introduced /taught in this lab with the help of different educational aids especially for Std. I to IV. The school has got a feedback that the basic concepts are very clear as their students have hands on experience. It is also very useful for thorough learning and fixation of knowledge.

Library & Reading Room

The classrooms are complimented by well stocked, completely computerized library and a separate reading room with excellent collection of reference books, CD and audio visual aids for students and teachers. Books are issued to the students from Std. I to VII once a week.

Sports Complex

The school has a well equipped Sports Complex which gives equal opportunity to children to participate in various sports. Introduction of Circuit Training in the regular P.T. period has let to the building of greater stamina and endurance which eventually leads for good concentration and better academic performance.

Observatory Board

Changes in the weather forecast are written along with the details of date, day and month to make the students aware of the changes in the atmosphere.

Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologist is present in the school for both the sessions to cater to students those who are having some kind of emotional or behavioral problem. Remedial teaching is also provided in the school to those who are having some learning difficulties.

Annual Social

All students participate in the Annual Social, though all are not excellent in dramatics, music or dance. This kind of exposure helps for personality development.

Marathi from Std. I

By design Marathi language has been introduced to children right from Std. I. So they get mastery over both the languages, Marathi and English. Marathi workbooks are devised by the school teachers themselves, taking into consideration the Non-Maharashtrian students.

The school management has always believed in improving the capabilities of pre-service and in-service teachers to utilize tools and educational resources for their own enhancement so as to meet the demands of education in future.
