Initially he represented Bharatiya Janata Party. Due to his brave nature he is sometimes referred to as Tiger Narendra.

. A. Narendra is in politics for about 4 decades. Recently he was suspended from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi due to allegations against him in the Emigration Scam.He is said to be a firm supporter on Separate Telangana state. After suspend from TRS he joined in BSP and in 2004 he joined in Congress. In 2004, he elected to Rajya Sabha. On July 27, 2011 he again entered Bharatiya Janata Party.

Personal life

A. Narendra is married to Lalitha. They have three sons and a daughter. His younger son was elected to the local corporation in 2009 GHMC municipal elections.
