The regiment was part of the 4th Armoured Division from 1977 to 1984. After the 4th Armoured Division was disbanded in 1984, the regiment was reassigned to the III Corps.
From 1993, it was part of the 9th Marine Infantry Division (9e DIMa), which became the 9th Light Armoured Marine Brigade
