History

Activated as a fourth F-100 Super Sabre squadron at Cannon AFB under the 312th TFW. Deployed to Turkey for NATO rotational comittments. Inactivated in 1959 when its parent wing was inactivated and re-designated as the 27th TFW. Personnel and equipment of the squadron were re-designated as the 481st Tactical Fighter Squadron
