 17th Air Army's 267th Fighter Aviation Regiment (267.IAP). It has become independent form Soviet command and personal since May 1945. Regiment was part of 11th Aviation Fighter Division, it was equipped with Soviet Yak-1M fighter aircraft. Regiment has took part in final operations for liberation of Yugoslavia. During the combat operations it was based at Ruma, Ilinovac, Bački Brestovac, Ilinovac and Velika Gorica/Pleso airfields.

By the 1945 new Yak-3 fighters have been introduced in service. After the war regiment has moved to Slovenia, being based at Ljubljana and Cerklje airfields. By year 1947 it was dislocated to Macedonia, being based at Skopje airfield. From June 18, to September 21, 1947, regiment has been based at Tirana airfield in Albania

By the 1948 year this regiment was renamed like all other units of Yugoslav Army, so it has become 116th Fighter Aviation Regiment.

The commanders of regiment in this period were Miljenko Lipovšćak, Nikola Cvikić, Ljubo Kojić and Spasen Zarevski. Commissars were Drago Đuričković, Đuro Savić and Miloš Milikić.

116th Fighter Aviation Regiment

The 116th Fighter Aviation Regiment was formed by renaming of 113th Fighter Aviation Regiment at Skopski Petrovac airport, where it has remain until it was disbanded. Regiment was part of 39th Aviation Division until 1959, when it was subordinated to 3rd Air Command. It was equipped with Soviet Yak-3 fighters until 1952 when they were replaced with new domestic Ikarus S-49C fighters. Regiment also had a number of various trainer aircraft, Soviet Yak-9U, domestic Utva 212 and others.

It was disbanded by October 15, 1960.

The commanders of regiment in this period were Spasen Zarevski, Branko Kuna, Aleksandar Bračun, Drago Stanisavljević, Petar Pavić and Stevan Leka.
