What would happen to surrounding wildlife if tigers were to go extinct. What can we do to help? I have always liked tigers. I would be devastated if the went extinct. help me please?

Tigers are already going extict which they are endangered. we are trying our best to help the endangered species including the tiger. polar bears, elephants, rhinos, bald eagles, and red deer are all going extinct. so a way of helping them is recycling, turning off lights when done, turn off water when brushing teeth, and unpluging things when not in use! turning off the t.v wont even help! im only 10 years old!

Well your very smart for ten years old!! i would suggest doing the same things!! also i love animals, and so i know one very important thing that would happen if the tigers went completely extinct! most of the food chain would go all whacked! because most of the food chain in south africa, and asia[where tigers live] is populated by the tigers diet! so let's keep those lights off1!!(:
PS: i'm only eleven!(:

I agree with all of you. All of that would help, but something that would help even more is making more people aware of the tigers situation. The more people that understand what is going on the better!!!!!. Your also right on the facts that 1) the food chain would go crazy without the tigers to keep it in balance. Many of the tigers main prey would overpopulate. Now at first that doesnt seem to bad but then you keep looking over a period of time. Then the grasslands will lose most of their plant life because the herbavoirs the tigers used to keep in check would eat all of the grass. Also that would affect other herbavoirs whether they were preyed on by tigers or not because their food source would be gone. If the tiger goes extinct many other animals will most likely follow suit. 2)You are also right on the fact about all of those other animals being endangered. We must help all of them in their battle for survival! They did not ask to be hunted or have their homes ripped to the ground and that is not what the deserve. They where here before us and if there is any justice in this world they will be here long after us. We have all been taught to respect our elders... well they have been on this planet much longer than us therefore they are our elders!! We must respect and help them along instead of killing them off one by one as we are. Instead of poaching them for some extra money, or destroying the place they call home we should be helping them!!!
