To the south, Africa, Europe (North west only with England) and what was called the "Oriens" or Eurasia being a portion of Armenia as well as what is now Iraq and then called
Parthia which was Rome's most dreaded enemy.

The only place the romans couldn't conquer was caledonia or what is now scotland.the west highlands were an impregnable bastion to the caledon tribe and in the east the romans tried bribery on the mattae tribe to get access to the river tay where there are fresh-water pearls ;these fascinated emperor antoninus pius the romans built a wall between the forth and clyde estuaries(about sixty miles) and had schythian archers and tungrian cavalry stationed .there was a proposed colony at castlecary(castle built on a fort)with spanish and austrian immigrants but this was overrun by a great pendragon named cunedda who united the tribes of caledonia and drove the romans back to the very southern coast.many of cuneddas men and wimmin were impressed by roman civilisation and volunteered for service in the legions.the original inhabitants of the forth/clyde isthmus were the brigantes a seafaring people related to the ancient britons of the south of brittania.regards ccserxrgf
