I came across his profile once on Chemistry.com and he had written he was writing a book about his life and the way ex cons are treated in this society. I was doing a little research on a member of one of my family members and came across your post about Alton R Barbour. I believe this man is one of my family members. I have never met him personally but I am interested in finding out who he is. Can anyone help me with that? If so it would be greatly appreciated.

ALTON R. BARBOUR was arrested in Florida last week and is being extradited to NC soon. Anyone having a legal matter or needing to see him may soon be able to visit him in the Craven County Jail. Just look under mugshots on September 28th in Hillsbourgh(?) Fl. You'll see him at his finest hour.

I just came across this information about Alton Barbour. It is somewhat troubling to me because the Alton Barbour I know and call Randy has always been a very caring and loving man. I have dated him some in the past and recently, or about a year ago. I know he has some financial problems, but I have loaned him money on several occassions and he has always repayed me. I am aware of his record and yet he seems very harmless to me and anyone I know of that truly knows him. I have been looking for him only because I wondered what happened to him. I will try to find out how I can contact him. Can anyone tell me what jail he is in and how I can visit him. By the way he saved my sisters life from two would be murderers back in 1992. Hello June- Alton Barbour or Randy whom I knew as Valton owes me quite a bit of money, he constantly asked me for money, because I cared for this man, I made sure he had it- even at the expense of my credit and security.
I had been so gullible, believed the most OUTRAGEOUS story of his life only to discover that it was a fabrication. He had a long list of alias that he had used as names of his friends or lawyers. I had just came off a difficult divorce and then him. I am happy to hear that he saved your sisters life but that just proves there is some good in everybody.
Sorry to hurt you with this- but it's all true.

Thank you for your response. I think he had told me about you and he was somewhat heartbroken after you broke up. I have always been a friend to Randy and I always will be I hope. He does have some mental disorders but I believe he is a good person who makes mistakes. I don't know the details of your situation and I don't want to know. I am trying to find him so I can see if there is any way I can help him. When I met Randy he was kind of well off and had a decent life. He has some mental issues but he also has a very creative mind and can do so many things well. I am sorry if you lost some money on him or whatever. But maybe he will repay you if he ever can. My family adores him and he has helped many people in his life and I have witnessed that first hand. He dreams big and most people just take him as he is. Hi Karen, I remember you well. Aubree was your stage name when you was a stripper and prostitute. You was also married to Randy when you and I was seeing each other. You stold my gun and credit cards before you moved off to Nevada. Do you remember me? Randy and I became friends after you left and I visited him in prison. He got out and we stayed friends. He never done anything bad to me or my family. Actually helped me with some things and wouldn't let me pay him. Hi and hope everyone reading this is doing well. I'm Susan and I know Mr. Alton very well myself. An old friend given me a call this morning to tell me what is going on. It very hard for me to believe Mr.Alton would harm anyone. I know him for long time and he always good to me and my family. He treat my sister children as his own and even when my sister die from cancer Mr. Alton still help the children. More than one year ago my niece died and Mr.Alton is there for us. I don't know if he really owed you money. But I do know he have a heart made of gold. I know so many story I can tell. But right now I am shock that people will say bad of him. How many times I saw him help somebody. WOW!!! I wonder if we say it about the same person? I also know about this woman name Karen and called herself Aubree. You should repent of your own sins. Just reading the things you told me about Susan. I feel sad for AL and am praying for him. It doesn't seem like the Al I know either. Ever since he came home from prison he has worked hard and tried hard to live right. I don't believe he would take money from these women and not repay them. I have loaned him money after his work went bad and he always repaid me. I also know some others who loaned him money and he re payed. I just called two of my friends who I know have loaned him money and they said he had payed them back. I am sure they will go on this site and have something to say about it. As far as Humpy helping Al some years ago, Al has told me that Humpy is a great man and one of the smartest men he ever knew. I'm sure Al's ex wife Karen is just trying to get some attention and money from Humpy because that's all she was ever about anyway. I do know Al is very sorry for disappointing Humpy and yet if you don't know the whole story then you don't understand what happened. Those who think Al should be in prison, well he paid dearly for his crimes, and what makes me sick is so many child molesters and dangerous people get off with probation and one or two years. He steals money, he steals cars, he may not be violent but he is still a criminal. You know, he used to constantly bring up the drug dealers and child molesters as being "worse" than he is. But it isn't so different because he uses trust and tresspasses on people being honest while he spins his latest story about how he is saving the country from bad people. Please.

I am your dad's mother, your paternal grandmother, here in North Carolina. We know little of what is going on with your dad Randy having received just a few letters and phone calls from him since his arrest. What my husband and I wish to know is if you are the daughter from Kentucky who visited us about 2 years ago - and whom we adore. We often wonder about you and how you are. Hello Randy's Mom, I hope you and yours are doing great. I met you guy's a couple of times when Randy and I stopped by. I think it is sad the way people are so fast to judge him. I only pray for him and the only things I can say about him is that I know he has a good heart and would do anything to help anybody. Even a stranger. I have witnessed this many times. I know that he has had a troubled past, but really impressed with how he has been since he got out. I will tell you when he was working he was one of the best and hardest workers I ever saw. The economy and loss of work may have tempted Randy, but I don't believe he intentionally done anything to steal from anyone since he has been home these past four years. He did tell me a little about this Roni woman and what went on there. I think she broke up with him and so he just tried to forget about her. I don't think he stole any money from her. Will not talk about this more because I don't want to cause any problems for anyone. I know he is one heck of a mechanic and can figure things out better than anyone I ever knew. I know he can do so many things perfectly. Randy is one of the most multi talented men I ever knew. All of you that want to talk badly of him should wish that you had half as much ability and talent as he has. You know I never heard Randy talk so poorly about anyone as some of you speak of him. Frances- I am not going to correct a girl that is defending her Father, such as he is. But the truth is he does owe me money, quite a bit in fact and I have enough proof to get him arrested. I want MY money back. He lied to me to get it and I am only wanting what belongs to me- if he had kept his word this never would have happened. Hi! I'm a friend of Alton's and pastor. I have known him for many years and feel like many just don't understand him. Frances I knew you when you was just a baby. I knew your step sister who passed away last year. I know your little sister and I know most of your family. As many will not agree with Alton's lifestyle I think we all agree that he will give you his last penny if you are in need. I recall a lady with two small children broke down beside the road. Frances your father bought that family a good used car and gave it to them. I know your father has many times went out of his way to help someone. I have no idea what crimes he has done. But I do know that if I needed help Alton would find a way to help me. I know many things he has done possitive in his life. When he was just 8a or 9i years old he pulled his cousin out of a creek and saved her from drowning. He saved a female deputy from being stabbed by two inmates. I happen to know that Alton posed as a minister often to get discounts or upgrades when he asked businesses for them.
He often told me that this was his cover so I strongly suspect this is in fact Alton writing up these glory days heroics for several reasons; Too many misspelled words for a man with a pastorial education and secondly- his stories of miraculous giving and helps are just unbelieveable. I remember one time we overheard a couple that were stranded from the tornadoes in Missouri and I wanted to give them some cash and he shot that right down- said THAT fellow was a scammer and he knew how they worked on people like me. HA! Isn't that ironic? I was the one being scammed at the time by HIM. So, superman he ain't; criminal? you betcha.

Alton Barbour failed to appear for court in Craven County on March 25, 2014. An order for his arrest is outstanding and has been entered in the nationwide NCIC database.

Randy was arrested in Wilson, NC on July 18 and will be having his first court appearance I believe 18 August. You can call the jail there and find out more information if you desire so.

Does anyone know specifically which case he is jailed on this time? He scammed me out of a lot of money, but I don't think he is in there on my case. Why does this man keep getting out when there are so many of us who have been scammed? It's time we banned together and notified the prosecuting attorney regarding how many people are involved and the amounts we've lost. He's only in this time for 23-28 months. I know because I called. He is currently being held for failure to appear and jumping bail in Craven county. He also has felony charges in Lenoir county and who know what he was charged with in Wilson. If you have specific charges/complaints, I would recommend contacting the Craven county DA, Robert McAfee he is handling the case here. Good Luck.

I know Alton Barbour, and met him in Gulfport, Mississippi. He is a compassionate person that has made some bad decisions and suffered some really bad luck due to those. I hope he can turn his life around when he gets out, and I hope someone will help him. I hope his daughter does not lose faith in him. I know he loves her very much. I am a very experienced pawn broker and have a very reliable talent of sizing people up and seeing their true intentions. I have an education that money can't buy in that respect. I know Alton is a bit of a bull-shitter, but he is very intelligent, and after talking with him on a few occasions, I know he has a good heart. If these people complaining about how he scammed them and owes them money would step back and look at their problem from a third party perspective, they may come to the conclusion that their inability to protect themselves from what happened is just as much their own fault for being dumb as it was Alton's for getting over on them It's time to cut your losses and move on. No use crying over spilled milk. I do believe he would make his transgressions right if #1- he had the means, and #2-the people scammed were good people that deserved it. I have a strong suspicion that the people who are wishing further prosecution and compensation are also guilty of similar transgressions that reduce their integrity and character markedly. I would give Alton the shirt off my back because I see the good in him outweighs the bad. He knows me, knows where I work, and is welcome to contact me anytime. I do sincerely believe he can overcome his misfortune and live a good life again. To his family, don't give up or turn away, he is deserving of another chance.
