History

The construction of the airport was completed in 2007 but only on August 23, 2011 commercial operations started. There are plans to move all scheduled flights from Francisco Álvares de Assis Airport

Access

The airport is located 35 km (22 mi) from downtown Juiz de Fora, 64 km (40 mi) from downtown Ubá, and 75 km (47 mi) from downtown Cataguases.

Since August 22, 2011 and for six months, the airport administrator Multiterminais offers free bus transfers from the Juiz de Fora Central Bus Station at the JMR booth to the airport. Departures from Juiz de Fora are at 12:00 and from the airport at 14:30 hours. The frequency will double on October 1, 2011 with busses leaving Juiz de Fora at 10:45 and 16:40, and leaving the airport at 11:10 and 18:30.
