The finished game was officially released on October 24, 2009 by North American company Super Fighter Team

at the price of $40USD per copy. Of significant note is that Zaku was the first new game for the Lynx whose game card has an authentic "curved lip" plastic shell. The game also shipped with a full color cardstock box, and 31 page instruction manual printed in both English and French. The game is 4-megabits (512 kilobytes) in size.

Zaku works with both models of the Lynx system.
