Political career

Churchill ran for a seat to the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia in a by-election held on June 22, 2010. He stood as the Liberal candidate in the electoral district of Yarmouth. The race was hotly contested between six mostly high profile candidates. Churchill took just over half the popular vote on election night, defeating a former MLA John Deveau, a former mayor of 20 years Charles Crosby
