History

The Professional Inline Hockey Association was found in 2002 with eight original franchises. The founding franchises were the Cherry Hill Renegades, Delaware Blades, Harrisburg Lunatics

, Line Lexington Law Dawz, Mount Laurel Generals, Pottstown Machine, Reading Nasty Boyz, and York Typhoon. Today, only two of the original franchises currently compete in the PIHA in the same city and under the same team name, the Harrisburg Lunatics and York Typhoon.

For the first four years in team history, the Typhoon were the dominant team in the league. The Typhoon won the first three Founders Cup
