In 2009, XMG Studio won the Best Augmented Reality App from the Best App Ever Awards for the game Pandemica. In 2010, XMG Studio won second best Racing Game and Artistic App for Drag Racer: Pro Tuner and Style Studio: Fashion Designer and four honorable mentions.

The first Great Canadian Appathon (GCA) took place in March 2011, where 300 students across 10 HUBs in Canada. The winners of the top $25,000 prize were Super Punch, a team out of Edmonton, Ontario.

The Second GCA was held on September 30, 2011. With over 20 HUBs involved, the participation was extremely high from all provinces. Major universities such as Brock, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, and Waterloo were among the many participating. First, second and third place will be announced at the finale on November 2nd, 2011
Upcoming Projects
XMG’s game Marine Sharpshooter has been optimized for SpinMaster’s App Blaster which is being released later this year.

XMG has also reportedly licensed the Ghost Busters license and the Monster Jam license.

XMG is working with Shaftesbury on a project called Totally Amp’d which was demonstrated at MipCom in October, 2011.
