It has a circulation of 100,000, ranging from Helensburgh to Gerringong. The newspaper is published in three editions: Wollongong Advertiser, Shellharbour Advertiser and Kiama Advertiser.

The newspaper focuses on local and regional news, contains a television guide, classifieds and a sports section as well as band gig listings and special focus sections.

Its editor is Lorraine Bennett. Its reporters are Nathan Simpson, for the southern suburbs, Agron Latifi for the northern suburbs and Alex Arnold for Kiama, as well as sub editing.

The Advertiser is the leading regional community newspaper, operating in conjunction with the Illawarra Mercury. Both are Fairfax publications.
