Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is a Hindi language Indian television series that airs on Sahara One
channel. The series premiered on May 30, 2005, and airs every Monday to Friday at 9pm IST
. The show completes 1000 episodes as of June 17, 2009. Also it is India's sixth longest running serial.
During the second year of the show's run, after the death of the characters of Rani and Prince, the show's protagonist became Pari Thapar, Rani's daughter who looks exactly like her. The show focusses on Pari's life, her first love in college, her marriage to her soulmate Saumya Parashar (Aamir Ali
), and the obstacles she has to face in her husband's house. Saumya dies after falling from a cliff saving his cousin Sameer. After the death of Saumya, Pari delivers the Baby Boy Shubham. Sameer marries to pregnant Alisha (Nisha Sareen). after Sameer and Alisha Married, Alisha gives birth to baby boy Shivam. 5 years later, Pari is going to marries to Dr. Manav. When Shubham is 7 years old Dr. Manav becomes Mad and he is married to Pari 7 years after the death of Saumya.
saumya dies before pari can give birth to their son. manav is the doc who handles pari's delivery. just when pari delivers a son, manav's wife pallavi also delivers a son. the kids get swapped and pari's son and pallavi die. coz pari is a widow and her reason for living is her child and also coz his son needs a mom, manav lets his son remain as pari's son (he's the only one aware of the baby-swap that had taken place). in time, he misses his son a lot and when people and pari misunderstand his reasons for seeing shubham (his son) he attempts suicide and goes slightly loony. manav's friend, dr. saurav (who had handled pallavi's delivery is the only other person, apart from manav, who knows about the kid-swap), tells pari the truth and she decides to bring father n son together. pari marries manav, nurses him back to his senses, teaches his wretched family a thing or two and is now caught up with a little orphan girl named rani (her mom's name).
Rani is the focus of the present storyline... she is an orphan whose marriage has been fixed with a guy in an aristocratic family in calcutta. her grandfather asks pari and manav to take care of her till she is ready to be married. they agree, mostly coz pari is drawn to rani (her b'day id pari's mom's b'day too and they both have the same name). a freak accident at school causes rani to lose her eyesight but Manav and pari adopt her and bring her home. their family is complete and DP and jyothi also have a baby girl. then one day pari falls and that fall leads to a far-fetched medical condition that paves the way for her death. before dying she makes sure Rani receives her eyes and so pari continues in the serial thru' rani's eyes. the serial now has its THIRD leap of 15 years. manav and pari are both dead. shubham is a doc. DP and jyothi run the house but DP's mom damayanthi and his and jyothi's daughter are as yet missing from the current show.

Plot
The successful show has been running for five years. During the course of the first year of the show's run, the protagonist of the show was Rani Goyal/Thapar née Mitthal a rich girl who gets married into a poor family and learns to adjust to lower middle class life. After the death of her first husband Raj Goyal, her family gets her married to her husband's rich lookalike Prince Thapar.During the second year of the show's run, after the death of the characters of Rani and Prince, the show's protagonist became Pari Thapar, Rani's daughter who looks exactly like her. Characters
- Rani Goyal/Thappar - Rani is a girl from a rich family which just lost its place in the society because of a huge financial lost and she gets married to a middle-class man, Raj Goyal and then Prince J. Thappar, but later on she dies.
- Raj Goyal - A middle-class man, who is very hardworking and gets married to Rani, but later on he dies due to a car accident.
- Prince J. Thappar - Raj Goyal's look alike, who is actually very rich. One day his car crashes into Raj's and raj dies. He goes to apologize to Raj's wife Rani and his family but they mistaken Prince for Raj and Prince starts falling for Rani and they end up getting married, then Rani dies and he marries again to a woman named Neha, and then dies himself too.
- Danima - Rani's mother-in-law, and Raj's mother, who then calls herself Pari's (Rani's daughter with Prince) nanni ma and daddi ma. At first she is evil and doesn't like Rani because Rani had come from a rich family but had brought no wealth with her, but later on she realizes her mistake and figures out what a wonderful daughter-in-law Rani is.
- Pari - Rani is Pari's look alike daughter who limps due to an accident saving her step sister Khushi who dislikes her. She is very kind and pure of heart, and gets married to Saumya who later on dies and leaves her pregnant (but their baby boy dies after birth) and then marries a doctor whose name is Manav and adopts his son with his first wife. At the end she also dies.
- Neha - Neha is Prince's second wife before he died. Neha is evil and dislikes Pari because she is also Prince's daughter, and she wants her daughter Khushi to have all the happiness.
- Kamya - Kamya is Prince's girlfriend before he had met Rani and fell in love with her. She is furious with Rani for stealing her love, so she dislikes her. Later on Rani and Prince die but they both have a daughter before dying who is Pari, Rani's look alike. Kamya marries a man name Abhay but still has the wish to take revenge with Rani, but since she has died she decides to take revenge with her "akhree neshani" Pari. So she gets her son Saumya married to Pari and tortures her.
- Abhay - Kamya's husband, who helps her with her evil schemes, but later on realizes his mistskes.
- Saumya - Saumya is Pari's husband. He initially liked a girl named Sanjana who likes him too, but before getting married they got a baba/pandit to check their horoscopes (kundili's) and it turned out that whoever Saumya marries will die within 40 days. So the families decide to get Saumya married for 40 days with some other girl and when she dies he can marry Sanjana. Then Kamya takes advantage of the moment and recalls Pari, Rani's daughter and decided to get her son married to her for 40 days so can can be avenged. But through-out those 40 days Pari wins Saumya's heart. Later on he dies, but has a baby with Pari.
- Khushi - Neha's daughter and Pari's step sister who is jealous of Pari. She gets married to Rohit and is not able to adjust in his life style so they constantly fight. Later on she becomes good.
- Rohit - Rohit is a new boy in pari's college who she starts liking. But after Pari finds out that Khushi likes Rohit she sacrifises her love for her sisters happiness and gets the two married. Rohit is a middle class family boy who is independent and very hard working.
- Ishana - Ishana is Kamya's daughter and Saumya's sister. Who gets married to Aditya Pari and Khushi's brother. Although Kamya is against their marriage because he is Rani's son.
- Aditya (Aryan) - Rani's brother who gets lost in his childhood and spends his life as a hooligan, although he is pure at heart. He falls in love with Ishana and her love leads him to find his real family (Rani and them)
- Sameer - Saumya's cousin who hates him and then one day accidentally crashes his car into Saumya's which kills Saumya. Then Sameer realizes his mistakes and becomes good.
- Sanjana - Saumya's girlfriend who was supposed to get married to him but he ends up falling in love with Pari, so she is evil and tries to break them up. But later on realizes her mistakes.
- Alisha - Sameer's girlfriend who ends up pregnant before marriage with his baby, so Pari gets both of them married. Alisha becomes jealous of Pari and her son shubhum but then becomes nice again.
- Manav - Paris second husband who is a very successful doctor stuck with his unsupportive step family. One day his wife Pallavi dies after giving birth to a baby boy, at the same time Pari is giving birth to a baby boy who dies shortly after birth. So Dr. Manav gives his baby boy to Pari without letting her know and says it's hers. But later on he gets married to Pari once she discovers the truth. At the end he dies.
- Dev Prakash a.k.a. DP and Jyoti - He is Manav's lazy useless step brother, who wants money. And his kind wife Jyoti whos is very nice. But later on when Manav and Pari die DP and Jyoti take care of their children Shubhum and adopted child Rani.
- Shubhum - He is Manav and his first wife Pallavi's son who is a successful doctor just liike his father, who loves his sister Rani.
- Rani - Rani is Manav and Pari's adopted child, Pari named her after her own mother. Rani was blind as a child but Rani and Manav cured her. When she grew up she also became a doctor, and got married to a rich man named Rishab Rathore.
- Rishabh - Rani's 1st husband who was killed during bus accident.
- Jai - Jai was the smallest of the four Rathore brothers, who died along with his other three brothers.He was married to Rajini.
- Dharam - Dharam is the eldest brother of the four Rathore brother's.He was killed during an accident along with his other three brothers. Dharam was married to Janki.
- Varun - Payal's husband who was killed during bus accident.
- Janki - Janki is eldest sister who got home back after some initial suppourt of Rani. Her husband was also killed in an accident. She has son named Shlok. Her twin sister took her place in her home after death.
