A wedding wishing well is a fancy donation box. It is becoming more popular among newly weds (up to 60% of weddings have them ), who have often lived together for some time before marrying, or who have been previously married, and do not need an extra toaster. They are also sometimes found at showers to collect monetary gifts for the guests of honor, as well as good wishes such as poems and messages of congratulations.
