. Scheduled to break ground in 2012, the Wilshire Grand Tower complex is planned to consist of two towers. The tallest and central tower would be 1250 feet (381 m) while the other is planned to reach a height of 750 feet (228.6 m). The development of the complex is estimated to cost $1 billion. , in the Financial District. The present Wilshire Grand Hotel, which currently occupies the site, will be demolished in the winter of 2011.

Design

As designed, Wilshire Grand will surpass the U.S. Bank Tower by nearly 250 feet (76.2 m). The towers are part of a new planned light and sign district that will extend along the Figueroa Corridor

 down to L.A. Live. The towers will be illuminated by digital art and advertisements on the first 10 floors, while the upper floors will feature solely digital art. The 40-story tower will contain 100 residences and a 700 room hotel.

These towers are scheduled to open in 2015 and will dramatically alter the Los Angeles skyline.
