Moore was elected as a Republican
to the Forty-seventh
Congress (March 4, 1881-March 3, 1883).
He declined to accept a renomination in 1882.
He resumed his business activities.
He served as member of the State house of representatives from 1889 to 1891.
He died in Memphis, Tennessee
