William Hale-White

Sir William Hale-White was a distinguished British physician
and medical biographer. He was the son of writer Mark Rutherford. During the First World War he was a colonel in the RAMC
and was created KBE
in 1919. He was president of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland in 1930 and also a president of the Royal Society of Medicine
.
He was the brother-in-law of Sir Alfred Fripp, surgeon to Edward VII and George V.
His son, Reginald, was born in 1895 and also became a doctor. He was an expert on heroin.
