West Bengal Survey Institute (WBSI) is located in the city of Bandel
in West Bengal. It is counted amongst the most reputed and renowned
technical engineering education in the state of West Bengal.
WBSI was established in 1947 with the intention of providing
professional and quality technical and engineering education to the

and Civil Engineering.The course wares are formulated as per the AICTE
guidelines and norms.They are designed in a systematic and scientific way
so that they can provide complete exposure and insight of the actual demands
and challenges in the engineering industry. The course wares and training
programmes are also regularly revised and update to enable the students
to stay in pace with the constant changes in the prevailing engineering market.

Prior to 1991 , this institute was under West Bengal Governments
" Land & Land Revenue Departments" administration, and was awarding
a 2 year trade certificate on Land Surveying. In 1988 the first ever
Diploma in Survey Engineering was introduced and the other course
discontinued. Mr. Pradip K. Roy associate professor of Civil & Structural
Engineering, the then BE College Sibpur was very instrumental behind this
transformation.
