Originally opened in 1972, since 2002 it has had the distinction of being the only college exclusively housing postgraduate students; though postgraduates can be resident in all colleges at the University. Wentworth has about 460 resident graduate students, and serves as the base for the Graduate Students' Association. The current provost of Wentworth is Russell Yates.

Facilities

Wentworth houses the Department of Sociology, Edge (formerly the Kasbah), a cafe by day which turns into a bar at night. Along with the Graduate Common Room, this plays host to many of the events organised by the GSA throughout the year.

In addition, Wentworth has a computer room, Yoga room, a quiet reading room for study and a laundry room.
