 in 2004. Prior to forming the band, all original members were in a local Toledo, OH band called Hearsay TAO. Shortly after the demise of Hearsay TAO, the remaining members started The Fury, a name they chose inspired by one of their first songs "Pretty Boy Fury." The band released a self-titled EP in 2005. Shortly after releasing the EP, the band was forced to change their name to We Are The Fury due to legal reasons. In the summer of 2005, they signed to One Big Spark Records (a Warner Bros. Records

 through the label in 2006, and released their debut full length album, titled Venus, May 22, 2007. They were named an "Artist to Watch" by Rolling Stone

In June 2008, the band was released from their recording contract with OneBigSpark due to the label going under.
The latest development in regarding the We Are The Fury camp is that Chris Hatfield and Jeremy Lublin have gone on to start a band called New Romans. Also in the band are Craig Bonich of Head Automatica and formerly Jaguar Love, Rick Penzone of Men Women and Children, and Jon Safley formerly of Lemon Sun.
The band was also featured at SXSW in 2006 and 2007, CMJ in 2005, 2006, and 2007, Bamboozle in 2007, as well as numerous college festivals, parties and showcases.
