History

WXGM started as WDDY in 1957. For most of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the station played pop and adult contemporary music. The station became WXGM in 1988, at first simulcasting the adult contemporary format of their new FM sister station, WXGM-FM, then later adopting the adult standards format.
