 expansion franchise on December 13, 2010. The team is part of the larger World Soccer Academy and is supported by Mondetta, a well-recognized brand in Canadian professional sports, as one of its primary sponsors.

The team played its first game on May 28, 2011, a 1-0 loss to Thunder Bay Chill
