History

WUMJ was first assigned the WKUE-FM call sign on December 4, 1978 on 97.7 FM. On September 3, 1990, the call sign was changed to WQUL as "Kool 97.7 FM". When then owner Griffin upgraded to a class C3 station on July 17, 1995, its tower was moved closer to Atlanta on the 97.5 FM frequency and the format was changed to Mainstream Urban

 as "Hot 97.5". The call sign was changed to WHTA at this time.

In February 2009, the Praise branding moved to 102.5 and WPZE changed to a simulcast of Majic 107.5. At this time, the WAMJ call sign was moved to 107.5 FM to reunite with the "Majic" branding, the WPZE call sign was moved with the "Praise" format to 102.5 FM, and 97.5 FM adopted the WUMJ call sign to go along with simulcast station WAMJ.

107.5 WJZZ

In 2008, 107.5 WJZZ Smooth Jazz had a low listener audience and lost all the sponsors for funding. It was sold to Radio One and became 107.5 WUMJ. It is now a R&B radio station.
