WNZF is a news-talk radio station, licensed to Bunnell, the county seat of Flagler County in Northeast Florida, which signed on August 18, 2008. The call sign stands for "News-Flagler." It is rebroadcast on FM translator W292DE on 106.3 MHz. It airs a local morning show, Wake Up Flagler, weekdays from 7-9:00, and a live discussion show, Open Line at 9, from 9-10:00 as well as Flagler Palm Coast High School football. WNZF is an affiliate of the ABC Radio Network. It also broadcasts programs featuring Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Dave Ramsey, and Fox Sports. WNZF is licensed to Flagler County Broadcasting, LLC, which is owned by James Martin and Gary Smithwick. Mr. Martin has owned and operated more than 20 radio stations. Mr. Smithwick is a Washington communications attorney who has participated in ownership of five radio stations in Florida with Mr. Martin. Mr. Smithwick was also president and part owner of a television station. WNZF was the first commercial radio station licensed to serve Flagler County. W292DE is the "106.3 FM" of WNZF. It was originally W292DE when its construction permit was issued to Radio Assist Ministry on September 7, 2004. On August 31, 2007, the callsign was changed to W293BF as then-owner Reach Communications was approved to move the station to 106.5 MHz/Channel 293. It reverted to its old callsign & frequency on May 15, 2008 when it moved back to 106.3 MHz/Channel 292. 5 days later, its community of license changed from Pierson, Florida to Bunnell

History

The station signed on August 18, 2008. Prior to that, it was a construction permit issued to Flag Radio carrying the call WAYI followed by the current WNZF after its sale to Flagler County Broadcasting, LLC. WNZF's application for program test authority was granted on August 18, 2008. Its license to cover was granted on November 10, 2008.
