In addition to its country-music format, WMLM provides farm and agricultural news updates and is an affiliate of the Michigan Farm Radio Network.
It was announced in February 2008 that owner Greg Siefker was selling WMLM to Krol Communications, owners of WJSZ

, for $205,000. Speaking to the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun, Siefker cited exhaustion and recent health issues as a reason for selling his station, although he was to stay on as a consultant. No change in WMLM's country format is expected in the immediate future.
In 2009, Under the direction of new Owner Rod Krol, WMLM and New Sales Manager Dawn Augustine picked up steam in the local community by becoming more visible with live remote broadcasts. In the Summer of 2010, Isaac McCormack joined the WMLM team as the Morning Show Host in addition to the role of High School and College Sports Play-by-Play voice for the station. Isaac's show "McCormack in the Morning" airs Monday through Friday from 7-9 providing Mid-Michigan with local news, sports, and weather, along with community events and obituary announcements. The "informational" segment of the program is supplemented with a mix of "Real Country" music as well as more contemporary artists such as Brad Paisley

to name a few, as WMLM tries to expand to a younger demographic in the middle of the mitten.
