until the 1970s, when its switched to Top 40. But by May 1976 it would switch back to Beautiful music. It would begin its current AC history as WAJY ("Joy 102") on December 26, 1980, which would later become "Magic 102" in 1987(and its moniker modified to "Magic 101.9" in 1995).During the holiday season, the station plays 24 hours of holiday music(the only station that does in the New Orleans area), from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas day, calling it the "Magic of Christmas."
