Mid-Atlantic (former owners of WINC
and WINC-FM) bought WJSY and sister WKCY-AM, and on February 9, 1988 the callsign was switched to WKCY-FM. In 1990, WKCY-FM switched to its current Country
format, branded as "104.3 Country KCY". Mid-Atlantic sold WKCY-FM/AM to Clear Channel in 2000. From 1990 until late 2006 or early 2007, WKCY-FM used the slogan "Today's Country and Your All Time Favorites" before changing to "The Valley's Country Station". WKCY-FM/AM's studios are on University Blvd. near the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.
