History

WEEC was formed in March 1961 and first hit the airwaves on December 15 later that same year..at first as a commercial station. All secular programming and commercial announcements were eliminated just one year later on December 15, 1962.

Paul Pontus, Dwight Coffelt, a local Springfield businessman, and Glenn Greenwood,a local Springfield pastor, founded WEEC.

WEEC began broadcasting in HD in September 2007.

On February 13, 2008, WEEC became a part of Strong Tower Christian Media.
