. It was created in 1996 as part of the management of the Votorantim Group. Responsible for the management of the electricity produced by plants belonging to the Group EV allocates and manages energy demands, studies and proposes measures to optimize the allocation of energy generated and energy use, provides advice on matters related to regulatory and helps companies of the Group in assessing the feasibility of new energy sources.

The power generated in the plants of the Votorantim Group is intended for the consumption of their own industries. In 2007, Votorantim generated 63% of the total energy consumed in the Group, being one of the leading industrial investors in the Brazilian electric power sector.

The company manager power produced at 31 hydroelectic plants, some in consortium and others exclusive of Votorantim Group. The company's portfolio also includes indirect investments in generation, distribution and marketing of electricity energy. In 2008, to ensure the supply of Companies, signed a contract with Cemig
