Born in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, he began his musical journey at the age of five. Voleti had his initial training from Chaturvedula Achutaramaiah Sastry and achieved Swaragnanam under Munuganti Venkat Rao Pantulu of Kakinada. He later graduated in music from Andhra University
