International career
Vladimir played his first match for Russia national football team on August 22, 2007 against Poland in friendly and was substituted by Anton Shunin in the half-time. Then he was chosen to play in a vital match against England, likely due to that Igor Akinfeev was injured and Vyacheslav Malafeev was in poor form at the time.
