Born in Naples on September the 1st 1974, he began his work as a makeup artist in London at the age of 16 years as a sculptor and prosthodontist in a laboratory for special movie's effects. In 1996 he made his debut in cinema with the film 'Prima che il tramonto' (Before the Sunset) by Stefano Incerti, for which he gets an award for Makeup and Special Effects at the Locarno Film Festival. With considerable knowledge in the field of special effects make-up and application of prosthesis begins to assert itself in the Italian and European cinema, becoming a personal makeup artist of Italian's actresses Margherita Buy, Laura Morante, Mariangela Melato and Valeria Golino. Vittorio Sodano has also taught at several academies of fine arts and in 2007 he got his first Oscar nomination for Apocalypto by Mel Gibson and a second one in 2010 for Il Divo by Paolo Sorrentino
On 2009 he won the 'David of Donatello ' (an Italian important award) for the same movie 'Il Divo'in the makeup artist category
