The Vintage Computer Festival promotes the preservation of "obsolete" computers by offering folks a chance to experience the technologies, people and stories that embody the remarkable tale of the computer revolution. It is consequently one of the premiere physical markets for antique computer hardware.

Besides the main event, held in Silicon Valley, California, other VCF events include: Vintage Computer Festival East (organized by the Mid-Atlantic Retro Computing Hobbyists), Vintage Computer Festival Midwest (organized by Jack Rubin), Vintage Computer Festival South (organized by Gil Carrick of the Museum of Information Technology at Arlington), Vintage Computer Festival UK (organized by the National Museum of Computing).
