Guadalupe

Every year Viewmont holds a fundraiser to support kids in Salt Lake City that attend Guadalupe Elementary School. The monetary amount differs from year to year but has consistently reached upwards of $25,000 in the past 4–5 years. The money is used to buy Christmas presents that the children would otherwise not obtain. Other local charities are also given part of the students' fundraising efforts. Students who wish to attend the trip to Guadalupe must participate in fund-raising activities and help shop for the children's wish-lists. Male students are encouraged to abstain from shaving until the goal for the school is reached, and once the goal is reached the male students are encouraged to shave their heads.

VHS Marching Band

Every year the VHS Marching Band marches at the Centerville Fourth of July Parade, The Farmington Days Parade, and the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade. After dropping the Marching Band for a time, it is now back and in it's fourth year. In class 3A, it received many awards last year, including First Place, Second Place, Best Musical Performance, Best Drumline, Best Visual Performance, and Best Colorgaurd.

Pathways, advisory and SRC

For the 2007-2008 school year, each student at Viewmont was placed into one of five pathways: Arts, Business, Humanities, Science, or Technology. The pathways "allow students to develop their interests and specialize as much as they would like". Students go to an advisory class twice a month based on their grade and pathway. SRC (Study Hall-Remediation-Collaboration) is a mandatory study hall for students that failed one or more classes the previous term. SRC is also mandatory for all sophomores during the first term of each school year. It is held during the first part of lunch every school day except Fridays. In addition, Viewmont has "Link Crew", a new sophomore transition program, which matches up incoming students with a group of upperclassmen to help connect and educate and facilitate inclusion for all new students.
