. UCS is the second-largest school district in the state of Michigan. Dr. Christine M. Johns is the superintendent. Utica Community Schools provides education for 29,519 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. There are presently 15,305 elementary students, 6,578 junior high students, and 7,636 senior high students.

Utica community schools operates 29 elementary schools, seven junior high schools, and four high schools. In addition, the Instructional Resource Center and the Training and Development Center provide additional educational opportunities to the community.

The Utica Community Schools Administrative Service Center is located at 11303 Greendale Drive, Sterling Heights.

More than 4,500 citizens in Utica Community Schools volunteer nearly 100,000 hours of service to students. Parent-teacher conference participation exceeds 95 percent.
