University of Technology (Yatanarpon Cyber City)
The Ministry of Science and Technology is placing emphasis on development of human resources in science and technology, and research and development fields which are the most important in building a new nation. By considering the progress of economic and social status of the nation, the ministry is implementing a plan to enable technological universities of the nation to keep abreast of the top level technological universities of the ASEAN countries in a short time.
To produce skill technicians
To realize the aim, the Technological University (Yatanarpon Cyber City) will be opened in the 2010-2011 academic year to be able to produce the outstanding engineers who are skillful in the modern technology for development of the nation and to conduct the advanced research works in cooperation with inter national universities.
The Technological University (Yatanarpon Cyber City) will emerge as a research-based university.In the near future, the university will start to turn out the skilled IT technicians who are essential for the State, today, communication and modern machinery controlling electronic technicians, advanced machinery and quality control technicians, and Nano technology-applied advanced material production and quality improving technicians.
Departments
The university will be constituted with four engineering faculties namely
Faculty of Information and Communication Technology ,
Faculty of Precision Engineering,
Faculty of Electronic Engineering , and
Faculty of Advanced Materials Engineering .
Moreover, a total of 15 research departments will be put under control of above four faculties.
