One Planet MBA

The University of Exeter Business School, working in partnership with WWF, the global conservation organisation, launched its One Planet MBA in September 2011.
The One Planet MBA is a new type of MBA aiming to produce unique planet-minded business leaders.

The MBA programmes are available in full-time and executive formats and are specifically designed to be flexible and fit around individual and business needs and circumstances.

Reputation

Since 2006 the University of Exeter Business School has been in the Top 5 in the UK for student satisfaction and No. 2 for research quality in Accounting and Finance according to the RAE.

The Guardian News paper has rated the Business School as one of the top 15 UK business schools and a top 25 European Business School.
The Business School has a particular reputation for Accounting & Finance. It is 2nd in the UK for world leading and internationally excellent research, 2nd in the Times Good University Guide 2010 and in the top 5 in the National Student Survey (with the highest satisfaction rating of any subject).

Mission of the Business School

The Business School was created to form a threefold mission: First, to advance research, scholarship and learning in accounting, business and economics of the highest international standing. Second to provide high quality education at undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience levels. Third to be a business resource for the South-West of England.

History

The University began offering an MBA in 1988, with the formation of the Centre for Management Studies. In 1997 the Centre was merged with the Departments of Economics, Accounting and Finance to form the School of Business and Economics under the headship of Martin Timbrell. In 2008 the name was changed to the University of Exeter Business School and Professor Richard Lamming was appointed as Director. At the time of its formation, the Business School employed 38 full-time academics, and in 2010 , this number had risen to nearly 100.

Relationship with University of Exeter

The University of Exeter Business School is one of 5 Schools within the University of Exeter. It is directly responsible for all teaching and planning in its own area, and is required to produce an ‘Education Plan’, a ‘Research and Development Plan’, a ‘Financial Plan’, a ‘Staff Plan’ and an ‘External Affairs’ plan for approval by the University’s executive function.
