Tyler Gotto

Tyler David Gotto is a Canadian professional ice hockey defensemen from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Dave and Marcella Gotto. He is currently playing the 2011-2012 hockey season in the Denmark professional elite league Al-Bank Ligaen.

Career

Tyler Gotto was raised in Calgary where he played minor hockey for the P.S.A. organization. He continued his hockey career in Calgary playing for the N.E.A.A. where during the 2002-2003 season his Midget AAA team, the Calgary Northstars, won the Canadian National Championship (Air Canada Cup), now named the Telus Cup. After this season Tyler played 3 years of Junior A hockey in Calgary. He played these seasons with the Calgary Canucks, playing out of the Max Bell arena. After his final season with the team he accepted a scholarship to Niagara University, to continue his hockey career playing NCAA hockey for the school. The schools athletic program is The Niagara University Purple Eagles. During his time in the NCAA, Tyler's team attended one NCAA National Tournament for Ice Hockey in 2008. Personally Tyler was selected as team Captain for the 2009-10 season. During his four year NCAA career Tyler collected many League Honors. Following his Collegiate career Tyler signed a Professional Hockey contract with the Toledo Walleye
2010–11 Toledo Walleye season
The 2010–11 Toledo Walleye season wass the 2nd season for the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL. Nick Vitucci returned as the team's head coach and continued their affiliations with the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings and the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids...

 of the ECHL in 2010. In January 2011 Tyler Gotto was traded from the Toledo Walleye to the Bakersfield Condors. After the 2011 season Tyler signed a professional contract with the Odense Bulldogs in the Denmark Elite League, Al-Bank Ligaen. Tyler was named an Assistant Captain with the club in Sept 2011.

Calgary Northstars (Midget AAA)

The Calgary Northstars finished the 2002-03 season in first place in the AMHL (Alberta Midget Hockey League) with a 24-7-5 record. Tyler Gotto finished tops in the league in defencemen scoring and was the top scoring defencemen on the Northstars and 5th overall. The Northstars proceeded to win the Alberta Provincial championship. During the playoffs Tyler lead all defencemen in scoring with 4 goals and 8 assists, and was 4th overall in the league. After being crowned Provincial Champions the Northstars and Tyler went on to become the Pacific Regions Team in the Air Canada Cup where the Northstars won the National Championship for Canadian Midget AAA hockey in 2003.
