Tulsa Technology Center

Tulsa Tech is a public independent school district affiliated with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Tulsa Tech is dedicated to preparing people for success in the workplace, and helps high school and adult students from across the Tulsa region explore new careers, upgrade their training and skills, and pursue their dreams. Tulsa Tech builds relationships between Tulsa-area companies and the motivated people who bring our classrooms, labs and shops to life throughout the year. The result is a stronger community where business and workers can find their edge and shine.

As the name suggests, technology is a driving force behind the Tulsa Tech learning experience. The diverse courses and programs are designed to streamline the transition from the classroom to the real world. As such, Tulsa Tech invests in continuous improvements to ensure our technology is in sync with today’s savvy, competitive, global economy.

There are convenient locations, flexible scheduling and online classes, and you’ll also discover that at Tulsa Tech, accessibility is key. It’s one of the reasons 200 businesses, 3,200 full-time students and 69,000 adults found their place – and the skills they were looking for – in Tulsa Tech's many accessible programs in 2009. Tulsa Tech has multiple campuses and offers full-time programs, part-time programs, and training programs for business and industry. Tulsa Tech serves secondary students from public school districts throughout Tulsa County, as well as private, parochial and home-schooled students.

Tulsa Tech is accredited by the Oklahoma Department of Education, and also accredited where available by the specific industry standards associated with their industry.

History

The oldest and largest technology center in Oklahoma’s Career Tech System, Tulsa Tech was founded in 1965 as part of Tulsa Public Schools. Tulsa Tech purchased its single campus (now the Lemley Campus) from Tulsa Public Schools and became an independent school district in 1973. In 1992, the school’s name was changed from Tulsa Vo-Tech to better identify and promote the type of career-focused training provided at the school’s growing number of campuses.

Today, Tulsa Tech offers modern campuses with a new Owasso campus in the works. Construction continues to expand the Lemley Complex and Broken Arrow Campus, as part of a 10-year master plan to upgrade facilities. As we look to the future, technology continues to play an increasing role in the development and delivery of Tulsa Tech programs and services. Plans include innovative virtual classrooms and additional on-line instruction and services.

Established in 1983, and with renovations completed in January of 2011, the Broken Arrow Campus now has 362698 square feet (33,695.7 m²) of classrooms, laboratories and shops located on a 53 acres (214,483.6 m²) site. Lemley Campus at Memorial Complex

Health Science Center at Memorial Complex

Opened in Spring 2009, the Health Sciences Center is a state-of-the-art, 175831 square feet (16,335.2 m²) facility that contains classrooms, laboratories, and instructional medical resources. Training Center at Memorial Complex

Business & Industry Services is located on the Memorial Complex in the Training Center. The department moved into the 50640 square feet (4,704.6 m²) facility in 1992. The Training Center has 13 training rooms that will accommodate 12 to 50 people that include the latest equipment for effective training. Three rooms are dedicated computer labs,
that will accommodate 8 to 12 people. Other options available to clients include a Mobile Computer Lab, and three mobile classrooms. Director: Judy Elliott

Career Services at Memorial Complex

The Career Services Center includes 42873 square feet (3,983 m²) of space and houses the Student Services Department, Guidance and Assessment, High School and Adult Admissions, Internships & Placement Services and the Recruitment Office. The Center has an auditorium which will accommodate up to 600 people or may be sectioned off for smaller groups.

Owasso Campus

Scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2013, the 255909 square feet (23,774.7 m²) facility will be built with state-of-the-art techniques, utilizing wind, solar, geothermal and graywater methods to power the building. The 55 acres (222,577.3 m²) campus will house 500-600 students, including students from Tulsa Community College, as well as host public meeting spaces with the ability to accommodate 12 to over 1000 people. Established 1999, the Riverside Campus is located on a 38 acres (153,780.7 m²) site and has 283000 square feet (26,291.6 m²) of classrooms, laboratories, and shops. Riverside Campus also houses higher education partners including:OSU Center for Health Sciences, and Tulsa Community College Flight Center.
