The congregation held its first service December 29, 1703. The first church was erected about 1712. The second church was erected on the old site in 1754 and granted a charter by King George III on December 6, 1769. The second church was destroyed by fire 1858. The cornerstone of the present church was laid on July 7, 1860, and the building was consecrated May 20, 1861, and added to the National Register in 2004.
